OSMOSIS – Centre for the Arts and Intercultural Education (GR)

OSMOSIS – Centre for the Arts and Intercultural Education (non-profit organisation) was established in 2005 in Athens. Since February 2009 Osmosis’ headquarters was moved in Nafplio. The organisation’s action employs all kinds of arts in order to develop projects for social and artistic intervention promoting the concept of multiculturalism.

According to its statutes the aim of the organisation is to raise citizens’ awareness and active participation against stereotypes and prejudices concerning diversity and to promote the values of difference and human rights through cultural creativity. OSMOSIS focuses on arts as an efficient tool for intercultural intervention. The organisation’s action employs all kinds of arts – theatre, dance, music, visual arts, creative writing – in order to develop:

a) artistic programmes with various social groups (arts as product): dance-theatre perform-ances, concerts, video art, painting exhibitions, digital exhibitions, etc.

b) social-educational programmes which are based on artistic tools (arts as a method): theatre game and role play in training seminars or intercultural and human rights workshops, theatre Forum, etc.
